ARTIST'S STATEMENT

If I had to take another look at my reasons for painting, I would say the basic motivations have remained the same. The need for expression, the sense of wonder about the gifts of nature we are blessed with. Over the past few years I have felt the depth of expression in my work has increased, as my own soul searching continues. As many others in my "boomer" age group, I look for a greater sense of inner peace realizing that our material life is transient. Memories and our own sense of spirituality are eventually the only things we will leave this earth with. In viewing my work, I hope that people will have cause to stop and think from their most inner self, if only for a moment.
